Kate honored at the 16th Annual BAFTALA Cunard Britannia Awards - 2007-11-14
Kate Winslet has been awarded at the16th Annual Britannia Awards in Los Angeles. The actress won the Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year, in the American version of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). Among other stars who attended the ceremony include, Reese Witherspoon, Kathy Bates, Famke Janssen, Jodie Foster, Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan. Winslet remarked that it is really paid off to reunite actor from the UK and US. “I just think that with a ceremony like this where BAFTA is coming over to LA, it really tells us that this small community that we have in England is merging with the larger community over here and there's just a lot to be said for that. It's really an honor," said Winslet.
Kate sketches her behind to charity - 2007-09-26
Kate Winslet has donated a self-portrait of her bottom for a benefit cause. The actress will auction the artistic demonstration for Paint4Poverty, an event that will take place in London later in September. Other 60 celebrities such as Robert Plant, Led Zeppelin and Jamie Cullum will also participate from the initiative. Proceeds will go for poverty causes around the world.
Kate thinks she won’t be a Bond babe - 2007-08-16
Kate Winslet thinks her chances of being a Bond girl have disminished due to her rejection to wear raunchily costume. The actress, who took her clothes off for previous films like "Titanic" and "Little Children", told The Mirror, "Young women in those films always have to take their clothes off and kind of run around with daggers in their bikini bottoms." Meawhile, Winslet was exhorted to quit her work as L'Oreal spokewoman, after the cosmetics brand is charged of racism

was born into an family of people in the theatre, and it seemed
to Kate that it was the natural thing to do to go into it. Her
first role ever was a the Virgin Mary, at age 5. From that point

performing arts school in Maidenhead, until age 16.
