Kate honored at the 16th Annual BAFTALA Cunard Britannia Awards - Nov 14, 2007
Kate Winslet has been awarded at the16th Annual Britannia Awards in Los Angeles. The actress won the Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year, in the American version of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). Among other stars who attended the ceremony include, Reese Witherspoon, Kathy Bates, Famke Janssen, Jodie Foster, Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan. Winslet remarked that it is really paid off to reunite actor from the UK and US. “I just think that with a ceremony like this where BAFTA is coming over to LA, it really tells us that this small community that we have in England is merging with the larger community over here and there's just a lot to be said for that. It's really an honor," said Winslet.
